Hasim's Winter Birthday Blues

This is a gripping narrative about a little boy between ages 7-10, living in a town that has a mild winter. His name is Hasim. His challenge is the season in which his birthday falls. Some years it snows on his birthday, others it does not. It’s typically not warm enough to play in a pool outside or cold enough to go skiing nearby. He’s an exciting, fun-loving, really social kid, but the weather often prevents him from doing the fun things he wants to do with his friends on his birthday. So every year he gets birthday blues. For that reason and more, he wants his birthday to come before winter. As Hasim is getting older, he is realizing that kids with birthdays during the spring, summer, and fall seem to have more fun on their birthdays because the weather is typically better and allows for more outdoor activities.
